Sunday February 6th, 7:00pm - Concert

The Prince Edward Consort, a new early music vocal ensemble composed of alumni of the choir of St. George's Round Church, will give their début concert at St George's on Sunday, February 6 at 7 pm. Their programme, "Marye the Quene," will feature Latin sacred music by English composers from the reign of Queen Mary I, performed with one singer to each part, with works by Tallis, Sheppard, White, Tye, Parsons, and Byrd. The singers include some of Halifax's leading choral singers - among them current St George's choristers Elisabeth Kleven and Andrew Pickett, as well as Marc Blouin, Tristan Cleveland-Thompson, Mylène Di Penta, Magdalena Jennings, and John Lindsay-Botten. Admission is by donation to the Friends of St George's Society (suggested donation $20) and will go directly to support music and other programmes at St George's.
